MCPS letter today

Received a letter from MCPS today about ICE near a school.

Does anyone know which school?

Eastern Middle in Silver Spring. Apparently some parents and students witnessed the violent arrest of two men by masked ICE agents. One report even said that ICE "paraded" the men in front of the school. I can understand that it was pretty scary for kids, particularly for the ones who fear that the same might happen to their parents or themselves.

We can easily tell you're of a certain political bent.

The facts are that two men were arrested by ICE near this school, there was some type of chase and muscly handcuffing, and there was a very visible perp walk in front of the school that many parents and kids were able to witness. There was a community outcry and this school received multiple reports of stresses out kids, because of lot of them are Hispanic, and there is palpable fear that ICE is going after Hispanics, regardless of whether they immigrants or not, legal or not.

But according to you, that's all "opinions".

Also, immigrants know that ICE can make stuff up and change their status from "legal" to "illegal", since they just did that to several dozen Koreans in Georgia at the Hyundai plant.

We can't help you if you live in an alternate reality.

not the pp but to cut down on addt'l fearmongering, the Hyundai employees were here on visitor visas. They're all being helped to get work visas

It is legal to conduct business meetings and train employees on visitor visas, which is what they were doing. I know, because we are foreigners and my husband has been asked to do this, and our attorney confirmed it was legal. So yes, ICE was lying.
