17 year old son has foamy urine

My son is 17 and he’s been saying his pee had bubbles, but all his tests were normal and showed no evidence of protein, normal blood tests as well. He’s an otherwise healthy teen. No evidence of UTIs, no other symptoms like swelling.

What can cause foamy urine with all normal test results?

If the urine test is normal, why are you still worried?

It sounds to me like he has a pretty good stream going.

Foamy urine is a terrible marker. Pee can foam jsut because of velocity hitting the water.

Has he been tested for STIs?

Is he drinking enough water? One of my kids never does and his pee, when it's too dark to look healthy, is also foamy.

If the trouble isn't on his side of things, check your water. Weird residue from cleaners, maybe? Something in your toilet tank?

It’s not cleaning products or something in the tank.

My son used to have this when he was younger. It went away. No issues.

Dehydration.

Haven’t drink Gatorade for a couple days instead of water and see if it resolves.

Yes, it was normal. He does drink plenty of fluids.

Concerning foamy urine is like the top of a fast poured root beer float.

Bubbles in urine in the toilet can be caused by "the speed and force of your urine stream causes lots of bubbles to appear. Or if you use a toilet cleaner, your pee may be foamy until you flush all the chemicals away. Foamy urine can also be a sign of dehydration and that you should drink more water."
