Things You'll Never Get A Handle On...

Before you die. Things you just know you will never accomplish.

Me, it's laundry. I'll never understand how people get all their clean laundry folded, matched and put away. I think I could hike the AT before I could do that.

I'll use a pile for the rest of my life.

Buy fewer items. Buy better quality tho that's sometimes hard to find. Be like a new Englander who wear and use things forever -- car, furniture, their Maine LL bean bag, you get the point.

Makeup.

Not misplacing things. Yes I know a place for everything - never getting there.

Cooking without it being stressful.

Understanding the stupidity of most people in the world. Even the high I.Q. types, who are often even more clueless overall.

Oh, okay, you are my people. I thought this thread was going to be about major career and personal goals, which would be depressing.

I'm never going to have a functional desk space. I can make it functional for a few weeks and sit at my desk and work there for a while, but it will always wind up being buried in random notes and paperwork until I can't deal with it anymore, and revert to working on my laptop on the couch or in bed, and then restart the cycle again a few weeks later. And no, I'll never go paper free because I'm a writer and handwritten notes and printed out research are how I function and I'm too old to change that either.

I can do laundry, wash dishes, vacuum, dust, mop.

I will never have an uncluttered house. We're 4 people in 1200 sq ft and a basement. Very little closet space. I would love a larger house but my husband has hoarding tendencies and I'm afraid he's just going to accumulate more stuff.

My house will never look like some of my friends' houses that are just... empty. Like staged photos of homes for sale. Where is their stuff???

I don’t think I will ever get a handle on people who cannot manage laundry or figure out how to declutter or buy less.

How is this difficult? Are you also the people who cannot figure out which is the inner and outer loop of the Beltway?

You definitely agree with Charlie Kirk that empathy is not necessary, don't you?

My high school varsity soccer player has been playing soccer since he was 2. I have been to hundreds of games. I can not tell you when someone is off sides.

I can’t understand electricity. Amps, watts, volts, ohms, grounding…all that stuff. If I get a handle on any concept, it is only for a fleeting moment.

No wait, maybe you're me.
I can get the clutter low when my husband is away on business travel, but I think overall my best house status days are closer to my friends' messy days.

I will never be able to keep a clear, empty desk. My desk at home has stacks of papers. My desk at work has stacks of papers. Occasionally I will go through and clean it all out ... and a week later there are more stacks. Honestly, I just don't care enough to clean it - I don't mind the stacks. The rest of the house is generally decluttered.
