I'm 46, perimenopausal, and get rather...robust gastric output before my period.
Sometimes, when I wipe my vaginal area, it seems brown has migrated there. I know how to wipe. I have wiped since age 1.5-2. What the hell is going on? It's not coming from my vagina. It has basically migrated from my butt. WTF? |
Seems highly unlikely, but there is a possibility of a fistula: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rectovaginal_fistula
If it's pretty loose, maybe it's just getting everywhere as you go. |
Are you sure it's not brown vaginal discharge, caused by spotting in between periods (which tends to happen in peri)?
|
That's what I assumed, but after I wiped, my vagina was bone dry. I have had spotting before but usually it's mixed w discharge. I'm 99.9 percent sure it's poop. And I am grossed out. |
Actually a vagina can be dry and occasionally produce discharge. That's normal and part of peri and aging. It happens to me. But usually smell should be a giveaway. Discharge shouldn't smell like poo. Discharge shouldn't have much of a smell at all. Poo has a very distinctive smell. You can't miss it. If it is poo, you need to consult a doctor, because it's not normal for it to slide forward like this and it could create a bacterial infection in your vagina. |
Yes. It happens. |
If it were a fistula OP would know. It’s probably a result of the hormones. Prolactins specially. Hormones affect the GI tract so it’s quite possible you have what is called a sh*rt. Not a doctor but bodies are gross! |
Yup. Just be careful when wiping. |
Could you have a rectocele? Did you have vaginal births? A small amount of poop can remain in the rectum due to the rectocele and can cause some smearing. |
