My older dd did the IB Diploma and my 11th grade son goes to a Catholic high school with APs. He's taking APUSH - they don't have 10th grade history and my kid wasn't on the honors English track (he is in AP Calc and Honors Chem this year; his school heavily gatekeeps AP classes) so he has not had tons of good writing practice lately. He always did well in history but humanities isn't his strength.
APUSH is a ton of work! He has his first test this week. His teacher gives sets of guiding questions a couple times a week plus there's a study guide for SAQs. Any tips from parents in the know about the best way to study, what to focus on? Are the SAQs and MCQs for the unit tests the same school to school? He's working his a** off but it's a lot coming off of no history in 10th. |
