41 and starting Menopause,

Is 41 average age? getting Hot flashes, Night sweats. and Sleep problems. Going to the doctor later this week for a check up.

It's a little early but it can happen. Ask your doc for a menopause panel to see your hormone levels.

I don’t know- my mom had it about that age but I’m 50 and no signs. I think you will need bloodwork to confirm.

You're in perimenopause. Welcome to the club. 41 is totally normal to start experiencing symptoms of estrogen loss. You may not actually hit menopause for several years. And a hormone test won't tell you anything in perimenopause, but bloodwork to rule out other factors, like thyroid issues, are appropriate.

You are starting perimenopause. Yes, this is when hot flashes night, sweats, etc. can start, but that doesn’t mean you’re anywhere close to menopause. You could have a good 7 to 10 years. Your timing is good though, because the medical community is waking up to the idea that peri and menopause actually matter, and you should be able to get treated. Google Maria Claire Haver - she has a book about menopause and a new one on perimenopause.

That is perimenopause, genius. You have to go 12 months without a period to be in menopause.
