Ds is 13. Hair is longish (probably 5 inch strands hitting to chin and layers above). DH always makes him use hair product to tame it, but it immediately looks greasy, and by after school looks like a Grease bomb. Ds gets his oily hair from me, DH isn’t familiar with that hair type.
Suggestions for teen boy hair products to tame almost chin length hair without grease? |
MAKES him?
You both need to back off. Help him if he asks for advice. Otherwise let him be. -a dad and MS teacher |
Gel and go light |
What about a salt spray to add some texture and give it that tousled look? |
have him cut his hair. |
What products do you use, OP? My son has curly hair like mine, and we just use the same Aveda products. |
OP here. Thanks for the helpful replies!
I have super straight, greasy hair. Most products make my hair limp, greasy, stringy etc, so i don't bother - because with straight hair it doesn't need taming. So mostly just hair spray for me when I need something. DS's hair is more untamed and needs something to keep it in check, or he looks like a homeless person. DH's 'rule' is that if he wants to keep long hair, he needs to use product in it. This doesn't seem an unreasonable negotiation with a 13 year old boy. To the dad/teacher above who apparently is a smarter better parent than me: My DS is ASD. He's not, however, an a**hole like you. |
