If I buy a panel ready dishwasher, where do I get the panel to match my existing cabinets? |
I’m in the exact same boat and it’s not easy. Check the manufacturer of your existing cabinets. See who sells them in this area. Call those sellers and ask if they’d be willing to do a single panel. My issue is that so far, the 3 that I called won’t do a single panel only if it’s not part of a bigger project.
Another option is to go to a place like Lowe’s and have them match the panel as best they can to your existing cabinetry. Everyone I know who has a paneled dishwasher did it at the same time as their kitchen renovation. Hope it works out for you OP! |
Find your dishwasher model #
Search website. Go to manufacturer and model page. Select specifications page (sometimes named “quickspecs.” Find panel size. Probably 23.75” wide by 30.375” tall, or so. Miele will be narrower (23.4375”) Go to an online custom door manufacturer (Walzcraft or Meridian - just examples, use who you want). Search door profiles that match approximately what you have. Meridian is probably a little easier as their lineup is less extensive. Order door in maple paint grade. Primed. (Or if you have a specific paint you know that they offer, they can paint it, but that’s a long shot) Buy paint - pop a door off your cabinets and bring it for color match. Ben Moore pearl finish is good for most 30-40 sheens. Paint. Install. The instructions may be good or bad, depending on brand. Install can also be easy or difficult, depending on your specific aptitude. I know plenty of very smart, impressive people who would struggle - don’t stress. you may hire out for this. |
^^
I suggested maple paint grade… but that’s should obviously be for a painted cabinet. Have it primed. Obviously if tour cabinets are Walnut or Rift oak order those. If you have a (walnut?) stain (or other) on some generic wood, that may be trickier if you don’t have specifics. |
This is ugly. |
