Teacher doesn’t give homework, feedback, or study resources. So I need help supporting a seventh grader in Spanish 2.
What is the name of the curriculum MCPS uses? |

My kid was doing really badly in 7th grade Spanish.
Our district was using Que Chevere! textbooks. They sucked. https://www.carnegielearning.com/que-chevere The curriculum was a jumbled mishmash of in-class dialogue, handouts, and out-of-order chapters from the textbook. I managed to help my son catch back up by doing only 6 hours of work on IXL.COM's paid Spanish language drill site. I was pleased and ANGRY that it only took 6 hours of study to replace a semester's worth of classes. Here is the site. It's aligned to a bunch of textbook series. https://www.ixl.com/spanish Duolingo can also help but it's laid out more to develop tourist type conversational skills. IXL is better for early grammar. I also recommend IXL math and English to assess your kid's existing skills. A college educated parent can learn a lot from the diagnostics. If you can bribe your kid to practice grade-level math regularly, it's worth a subscription. Good luck! |
I am pretty sure realidades is outdated and hasn’t been used in a couple of years. Didn’t they change to a new curriculum? |
For the correct answer, you're going to have to ask the teacher. |
There is no curriculum. Get a tutor. |
Realidades hasn't been used since before Covid. They use Entreculturas now |
Entireculturas.
Focuses on the local cuisines of South America instead of practical Spanish for (US) Americans. |
