Hello.
I had a freak accident that resulted in a severe injury to the Hamstring tendon being torn off from the pelvic bone. The orthopedic doctor upon looking at the MRI suggests surgery to attach to the bone. Per the doctor, I could opt for natural recovery but it will be a long recovery and if by any chance the tendon does not reattach correctly surgery is harder later. The decision has to be mine so I am looking for anyone who has similar experience with surgery or non surgical recovery. Any shared experience on decisions and results will be much appreciated. Thank you. |
I would have that surgery ASAP. |
This happened to my mom when she was in her early 70s. Due to her age, they didn't recommend surgery. It was an incredibly painful and long recovery for her. I only have this single data point, but professional athletes always have surgery after this injury. |
