Really OP? It was pretty self-explanatory in the letter DCPS sent

Same thing happening in NFL game stands across the country -- spectators engaging in unsportsmanlike behaviors.

I am so glad they are doing this.

It’s not all sports, and it’s not permanent. Just football and just through Oct. 10.

There were incidents in previous years (e.g., J-R.). And most recently (as far as I know) there was a stabbing outside a game at Archbishop Carroll. Two teens were stabbed. No idea if they were students of either school.

This parent policy is beyond stupid because every kid in line was just finding an adult to walk in with them. I was asked 10 times by different kids if they could walk in with me but the 2 friends I was with and I already had 9 kids---6 of them we never met before the line and could have caused all sorts of havoc the moment we got through the metal detector. It was all just performative.

Even if the adults don’t know the kids it increase adult to kid ratios.

Were the spectators/stands calm? The crowds at the games in the weeks before were not.

It’s not stupid. It means more adults will be at the games. They should have given more notice but it’s very clear you haven’t been at one of the games that led to this policy change. Because it was a total cluster and involved lots of law enforcement.
