This would be the first time for me and would be for business. The state department warnings are concerning of course but I may have to go. Do folks have any advice on staying safe.

Don't take public transportation like buses. Don't go to places like markets with crowds of people. Know where the shelters are if sirens go off. |
Get Global Rescue or other medical evac service. Not expensive. |
I would just tell work I can’t go. Period. |
Enjoy! It’s a great city.
Ask to stay in a hotel with shelters on each floor. Makes it a lot faster to get to. The food is amazing and the beaches are beautiful. |
Was just there visiting family. Enjoy it! |
+1. Just know where shelters are on the very unlikely chance you’d need them. And enjoy Tel Aviv - it’s a world class city. If you have time, do a side trip to Jerusalem, a bit more than an hour away. No matter your religion, the history is fascinating and who knows when or if you’ll be back. |
I’ve traveled to Israel before on business but I wouldn’t go now. They are waging a genocide and claiming it’s necessary for their own security, so why put your own safety at risk. Do a Teams call if you must deal with them at all. |
Is your family origin Arab or Muslim? If so, expect interrogation, being detained, the contents of your suitcase picked through (including your underwear), body searches, and harassment on your way out. All from 18 year olds with machine guns. I'm a white Christian American woman and I have experienced all of this in Israel multiple times. I've heard it's even worse for friends who have Arab family origins. If you have a Jewish name, you should have no problems! |
Thank you for the helpful responses. I should have said 'for work' and not 'business' but regardless thank you to those who offered such helpful advice. |
Forgot to add: you may be asked to surrender your phone and laptop. Assume they will download its contents before returning it to you, about two minutes before your flight leaves. What a wonderful place! |
You'll be quite safe and will have no issues if you obey their laws, same as anywhere else. |
The delusion continues. . .not sure what will break it for some people. |
Why? They are the same thing just said two different ways. |
You’ll have a great time. Agree with the poster that said stay at a hotel with bomb shelters on every floor (which is any new hotel). Otherwise you will feel safe. Make sure to check out the beach and restaurants. |
