How to find a lawyer in another state for various financial issues?

MIL -80- is signing documents without reading them, being manipulated by a sibling she trusts who is clearly taking advantage of her, agreeing to join in on his multitude of lawsuits without understanding she is agreeing to pay his judgments if he doesn’t prevail, and overall creating a mess by entangling herself in stuff she has no interest in understanding or engaging. She fights against us begging her that she needs her own legal representation but she clings to her sibling telling her she doesn’t need one because he has one. It is undisputed that the lawyer represents her sibling not her. She’s in full delusion about what her brother is doing despite it being crystal clear on the documents we have found on line with public records.
I’m an unsure if DH and I should find a civil, elder abuse, estate or other type of attorney. We could hire them for a consult with us based on what we know. I was thinking that someone who worked with elder financial abuse and planning might work because they would understand the psychology of the victim and be better able to reach them. |
