Paxlovid is going to cost me $1400?!

Our health system is completely broken. I tested positive for covid this morning and my Dr. called in an Rx for Paxlovid since I have asthma. Imagine my shock and surprise at the local CVS price of $1400!!

The medical industry is evil.

It's not the medical industry, it's the health insurance industry and the current administration colluding.

I miss the old days of paper scrips. It made it easier to shop around prices. See if Walgreens or Walmart can do it for cheaper. I've had issues with CVS not approving my inhaler even though Carefirst clearly approved it.

Just curious, do you have a high deductible plan? That’s so high.

Costco would be cheaper

What if you look on GoodRX? My insurance (BCBS) has a calculator on the website for drugs, but who tf wants to shop for medicine when they are sick?! I hope you feel better!

What health insurance do you have?

I think you can purchase medicines from Canada where they're likely less expensive. I've never done that but have come across the idea. Have them overnight it?

not even kidding

Mark Cuban's Cost+ Drugs is fantastic without any type of insurance

You can still get paper scripts. I had to do that for a while when DD’s Vyvanse had a shortage and I had to call 20+ pharmacies to find it in stock.

ASk for the price through good RX. I think I paid about $100. Or go to walgreens or another pharmacy. CVS is very expensive.

CVS is the most expensive place to get medication hands down.

Do you have insurance? If not use good rx.

THere's some kind of coupon. I got it for a friend and the coupon brought it down to less than $100

Yes I did that and it’s $1400. They are happy to offer me a $300 discount from the cost of $1700. Yay.
