I need an exterior light for my kitchen entrance. House is a small cape, built in the mid 1930s.
I am an obsessive hyperfocuser, and this is the sort of thing I can lose a stupid amount of time researching (For example: What makes a good exterior light, what should the light directionality be, what is historically appropriate but also has a bit of style, do I even need style for a kitchen entrance, do I want motion sensor, what lasts longer enamel or galvanized metal or something else, will I bang my head if it sticks out too far and if so how far is TOO far, how heavy feels substantial without pulling on the clapboards, is there a huge difference between home depot and the nicer brands, how do you keep the moths from dying inside it, can I get a good one for under $200, etc. etc. etc. ) I guess I'm hoping someone says simply, "this is a good light, I like it" and saves me from myself. |

I hate to say but Hampton Bay is not exactly known for their quality or longevity. I've always worked with Lightopia and been pleased as punch with the quality and design.
