My 15 yo kid came out as trans over the weekend, says that they’ve been thinking about this for years and it’s a done deal.
We’re not white, and I’m so worried that my very smart, relatively chill nerdy kid is going to be actively unsafe in the America that has revealed itself in the past few months… Does it make sense to send our kid to go to Europe for undergrad and beyond given better legal protection there? Anyone btdt? Tia |
By the time your trans kid is in grad school, I suspect we'll know which way the country is headed. It's a little premature to be worrying that far ahead at this point. |
Europe's a pretty big place. You better focus a little.
Hungary and even Italy are not going to have the same vibe as urban Sweden. |
Your kid is 15. Several years away from college. Focus on the now, not the future. |
You’re nuts if you think they’ll be treated better in another country. |
