I may be the only person on the planet who did not like Eat, Pray, Love. Like really, really hated it. It looks like she has a new book out detailing the relationship with the person she met at the end of Eat, Pray, Love.

My question. For those of you who loved Eat, Pray, Love, are you disappointed by her other books? How do you feel about this new one outlining the drug situation?

I remember the author of Julie & Julia getting pretty unfavorable reviews when her second book came out about her own marriage. Wondering if this will be similar or if fans like her too much.

The new book is about her relationship after she broke up with the new husband from eat pray love.

I haven’t read it but l think she’s a good writer and brutally honest. So l probably will read it.

I find her insufferable. She’s the epitome of that word.

I hated every word of it and I love eating, yoga and Italy. I saw someone reading/enjoying it this summer, someone I really dislike. All I could think was "of course YOU would like that". I wanted to tell her how the author ended up but bit my tongue.

I couldn’t finish it.

Eat Pray Love was an appalling book. No way I will read another of hers.

FWIW I enjoyed the second book by the Julie and Julia author. It was raw and she is insufferable and I thought she treated her husband terribly. But it was a good read and well written.

Me too. Hated the idea, refused to read the book or watch the film, turned away from the hype.

OP you're not alone.

I really liked City of Girls a lot, but I had mixed feelings on eat, pray, love. I am not necessarily planning to read the new book.

I didn't read her new book, but I read the NY Times book review where talks about how the book details the drug deals she made to support her partner's habit (and her own at times.) Seemed like she had no fear of any consequences for those actions of breaking the law.

So much white privilege encapsulated into one woman.

Um, while it was a phenom when it came out, mocking/hating on Eat, Pray, Love is now way more common than praising it.

I did not like "Eat, Pray, Love." I did like "The Signature of All Things," though it could have used an editor for the Tahiti part. "Big Magic" is "duh" wrapped up in kooky.

I hated eat pray love so ignored her moving forward. Why spend time on bad authors you don’t like.

If you hated it why do you want our opinions?

As if you are less insufferable.
