I would appreciate recommendations of companies with staff that is professional and wear protective gear to treat area and remove yellow jackets nest.
A family member was recently stung and had an almost deadly anaphylactic shock. |
| Any pest control company. |
Nope. One of them sent a technician without the proper gear and failed to perform the job. |
Why do you care if they have the proper gear? That's not your problem. And they don't remove them, they kill them. |
| Bee Be Gone. He will remove the nest and not try to sell you a contract. |
| Just had Montgomery Pest Control out to do this this morning. He said it was a yellow jacket nest. They definitely do this, at least in Maryland. |
I just had a guy from Bee Be Gone. He didn’t want o war the protective jacket, he was stung twice in the face, complained about it, wrote an invoice, and was gone. Totally unprofessional. |
In VA they come to remove $$$ from your wallet, not the yellow jackets nest. |
| Cropp Metcalfe used to get rid of various kinds of wasps for us. |
|
If it's above ground nest (much more rare for those types of wasps) then knock it down and run. Racoons or something will eat the nest soon after.
If it's paper wasps that have yellow stripes and an umbrella type honeycomb exposed nest, those are paper wasps, and less dangerous, so just knock it down with a broom, or squirt it with a waterhose jet nozzle. |
| My Pest Pros came out for a hornet’s nest in our roof. At first he thought they were the harmless kind, but once he saw what they actually were, he did the full suit and made us stay inside while he worked. I’ve been very happy with them. |
I’m not sure if you are referring specifically to Montgomery Pest Control, but I already received the bill for this morning’s service—$95. They came about 90 minutes after I called and took care of the issue. That seems a reasonable price to me. |
Not a bad side hustle for that amount. |
