NP. I looked into these for my son a few years ago after a concussion. If memory serves, they are supposed to increase the blood flow to the neck and head to provide more of a "cushion" and protect from concussion. We weren't convinced and DS decided he didn't want to risk another concussion and decided to quit soccer.
