| Can someone answer a question please? Why do these people that talk on TikTok have Put on lotion or make up or eat food when they’re talking about certain subjects that have nothing to do with food or make up? I just don’t understand. They may be talking about something in the news or a celebrity. While they’re doing it, she’s putting on face lotion or eating something. Please explain to someone who is not very savvy as to social media. |

| I've never been on tick tox and have no idea what you're talking about but why not stay off of it if it's bothering you so much? It doesn't make sense to use it then complain. |
| I assume they are doing it to show they are oh so busy and only doing these videos while they do other stuff they needed to do anyway, like getting ready for the day or eating. |
| I think the lotion thing is to trick people into thinking they’re watching a makeup or skincare video because most of the people on there are vain idiots who love that stuff. |

| I think it's soothing for watchers who have ADHD. |

They want attention. Just like children. |
| Because the point is for them to get free stuff or money from companies so they incorporate brands into everything they do. They get free stuff from companies all the time and have to work it in. |
Why are people this freaking stupid? |

I agree with PPs. It’s likely one of the following:
1. They want to seem like they are wedging the video in during their busy lives (when in reality they might be on their tenth take). 2. So many viewers have ADHD now (I think TikTok is actually giving kids ADHD) so the videos with the extra stimuli are able to hold viewers’ attention (whereas a basic video with no background activity would appear boring). 3. In the case of doing their face / makeup, they are going to sell a product. But typically in these, you can see the product link in the video and scroll by before you hear their BS sales pitch. |
| The whole "get ready with me" thing is strange and confusing. |
I have ADHD and hate watching other people put on makeup. |
