Mowing during drought

Anonymous
Why are lawns continuing to be mowed during this drought? It's okay if your grass is a little longer Keep in mind:

Mowing is a stressful event for grass. When the grass is already struggling to find water, cutting it frequently forces it to use its limited energy and moisture to recover. It can also damage the grass crowns—the critical parts of the plant where new growth originates.
