Elders, talking with food in mouth and spitting food pieces out

How do you deal with this? It’s absolutely disgusting to have to sit across from this while I eat. Any tips?

If this is the least disgusting thing you have to contend with, you're lucky. Also, you might do this too at some point.

I would try focusing on their shoulder, their forehead, or a point just behind them. Or on the center of the table.

I live with them and fix their meals so that’s not possible.
