Why is it that private high schools don’t seem to have a cap on how many girls can play for the coach’s own club team? Public schools have limits, but private schools get around it. Doesn’t seem very fair.
What is the public school cap? Personally I don't think a coach should be able to have girls on their HS team and club team at all.
In Virginia, at least, VISAA has far less restrictive rules than VHSL on...basically everything.
WCAC does too!
Bishop O’Connell has seven girls from the coach’s club on the team, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they get more playing time.
Well, isnt that supposed to be a perk of private school?
definitely pay to play at OConnell (unless you play for Metro Travel). Something just seems wrong with a high school supporting a program that requires belonging to one club team ($$$$) But I guess that's how private school teams work now?
Do you know how hard it is to find coaches for private school teams? |
I've definitely heard of pay to play at VAE from former players.
It's probably more likely that they were playing for his club team as middle schoolers and were recruited by him to attend DJO to play volleyball. WCAC is a completely different world than VHSL, it shouldn't be shocking that recruited athletes get a lot of playing time. |
