| Thinking about starting to tutor kids in HS/middle school math. What do you pay for your private school kid’s academic subject tutor? |
| $100/hour |
| On Wyzant approximately $60/hour. Prep matters in DC quoted us $200/hr. |
| I also use Wyzant and it's $109/hour. I've had a good experience - I like how you can read each tutor's bios and reviews before booking them. |
| For in-person, one-on-one math tutoring, we pay $50/hour. Last year she was $30/hour which I thought was a steal! But she just increased her price. Still worth it. We go to her house; son is in 10th grade. |
| Yes have loved wyzant. My son’s tutor has been fantastic so far and they send a recorded video of the lesson afterwards. |
I love that part, too! My son of course doesn't want me poking around listening in on his sessions, but I get the recording of it a few minutes after it's done. I listen to it while I'm driving. |

$50-$75/hour
If you’re new at it, you may need to start out lower, even if you are a teacher. (Approx 100% of the kids in tutoring already have teachers…without tutoring experience, there is no way to know if you’re good at teaching or not). I mean this kindly… |
| Why private school? Does the price vary between a public and private school kid? |
I think it does. Private school math tutor was $175 and the public school in person tutor was $70. I was sad to lose her! |
