| Like half a field, quarter of a field, full field? Just curious what the norm is. |
There is no norm Training field requirements are tied to the drills being done that day |
|
Some clubs are better than others. We are playing U13, but we literally get 1/6 to 1/8 of field it's a joke 2 days per week.
1 Day per week, we get half a field. |
This makes no sense. |
| U14+ 1/2 a field, turf. |
| U13, 9v9 field |
Small field 5 v 5 drills use same space as counterattack and crossing drills? |
No, but usually the club assigns the field space at the start of the season, without regard to what your plans are each particular week. |
| At any age 1/3 of the field is plenty. If not then the coaches do not know how to train. Yes maybe last 15, 20 minutes can steal half a field if needed but 1/3 is usually the rule for a good training session. |
Folks think their kids need big spaces to train, like they need oversized houses and suv's Then wonder why in games kids can't figure ways out of tight spaces |
this sounds like the kind of nonsense a club admin or club director who failed to secure enough field space would post. You can always use less space than you are alloted for certain drills. |

We are at Herndon, this is my kid's first year and last year there. The practice space is so small! Four high school teams sharing one field at every practice. I don't understand what we are paying for. The fields are also overrun with pickup players even during practices. This has not happened in practices at any club since u9.
|
| I would be complaining to my club if there were pickup players trying to use the field during club practices. That's not safe. |
| Half a full sized field, 3 nights a week. RL level team. |
| 1/4 of a full size field-- which works out to 1/2 of a 7v7 field with a small goal |
