Looking for fall pickup and winter team for a tall 15-year-old pickup player based in Bethesda, school in Silver Spring

Hi - My 6' 2" son who is 15 years old was more of a hockey player, but he was living in another state last year and got really good at pick up basketball. Where are there pick-up games for him in Bethesda or Silver Spring or NW DC? And he is interested in playing for a league in the winter or spring. How do we get started with that?
He is not looking to be some kind of college recruit, and his school doesn't have much of a basketball team. But I think he is reasonably good: maybe high JV or low V? |

If you are in the bethesda area, One Life Fitness in downtown Bethesda has an indoor basketball court. High school and college aged play pickup basketball there. i am not sure the exact days/times b/c adults also play pickup there too. Sometimes the adults and kids play together but I do think the kids play at specific times.
the front desk can tell you more, but you'll have to buy a membership for him. I think it's free for kids of members as long as the kid is 13 and under. |
