Why no love for VHC?

Anonymous
I have seen a few different topics where comments include negative opinions of VHC.
Can you please elaborate?

It's convenient to me, they did take good care of DH for AFIB recently.

Their billing office is a nightmare in my experience but what about the care, radiology, etc.?

I've used VHC for all of my deliveries and several ER visits. I don't have any complaints.

You need to stay away from VHC!

How much time do you have? They are ridiculously expensive. I mean borderline criminal. They billed my insurance $1,600 for a 6 minute physical in which they didn't do basic blood work like vitamin d level even though I'm deficit same with iron.

They practically refuse virtual appointments for basic easy crap.

They "throttle" cholesterol medication even when your levels are in range they want you to come in every 3 months for an appointment for medication refills even when most places will give you 12 month supply.

They make you come in constantly for everything just to bill you especially if you have great insurance.

Tell you the will indeed run a blood test then they don't you call them back and they won't fix the order. They basically dont do what they say they will do.

Doctor turn over is TERRIBLE each time you're forced to see a new doctor and the don't know anything about you or care to read your chart. The last guy was a condescending male chauvinist pig who laughs at women and has a terrible bedside manner.

Their ER doctor lied on my records.

They continue to bill you again and again even when your bill is paid in full.

Its very hard to communicate with most of their doctors as English is not their first language.

Radiology reports are bare bones my other doctor was upset.

Very long wait for appointments in super hot crowded waiting rooms with broken a/c this happened 3 times.

Should I keep going?

Save yourself the trouble op the rumors you heard are correct there is a reason most people hate them.

I had an extremely rough and uncaring l&d nurse at VHC, would never go back.

I’ve had good experiences there twice for L&D and once at the ER.

Their ER is terrible! Bad doctors and extremely filthy. It smells nasty. There was blood all over the lines they were using on me.

ER doctor was like what do you want us to do? Um your job!

My sister had the same experience. Sorry PP.

My mother hated that hospital she had one of her hip surgeries there.

My father, in his 90s, had exceptional care in the ER at VHC. I was very impressed with the doctor. He ran tests and found the underlying issue to his fall.
I myself have had great experiences in the mammography dept and had a CT scan where the tech had a great bedside manner.
Im not going into great detail but I am proud to have the hospital in my backyard

I was very happy with l&d minus the ob - was not my regular doc and he was very impatient/cold.

Everyone else was incredibly supportive and felt well cared for

They do indeed "throttle" medication just to force you to come in every few months. It's a waste of time and money which is mostly what they care about.

Their prices are much higher then other local places and the care I got wasn't as good.

NP. The 2 times I tried to use them, I could not get past the admin staff to get an appointment. So I have no idea about how the actual MD would be.
