Border Patrol gets raise - other feds do not

I thought all Feds were on the same schedule. Why would some feds, like Border Patrol, get a 3.8 percent raise and others just 1 percent or nothing?

Federal law enforcement is on a different pay schedule.

Not all of them. There's a lot on GS scale and other agency specific scales.

NPS Park police aren't paid enough IMO. I'm not familiar with other federal law enforcement though.

Correct. Our LEOs are on the GS scale.

It is commensurate with the military so I assume it’s something similar in that they “defend the country” on home soil or something along those lines.

My husband is a LEO (not ICE), but between LEAP, overtime, and paycap, this wouldn't matter to him anyway if hes even eligible. It'll mainly hit the newer, lower ranking folks.

It literally pays to be in law enforcement. Look at all the threads in this forum for out of work and underemployed people. They could apply for a police job right now, unless they’re pot heads.

Dictators do whatever they need to do to serve their own ends. For example, at this very moment Putin is propping up the Russian software industry by offering employees of certain registered companies cut rate mortgages (bribe), conscription deferral (protection from death), and other incentives.
