Basketball for 1st grader girl

DD6 wants to pick up basketball restricted to indoors only. She is newbie. Before she joins the city of Gaithersburg winter basketball winter as a newbie, anywhere or any classes nearby now that she can learn some basic basic skills and rules. She is shy, so the coach cannot be too strict. I am concerned that she may get bullied if she just joins as a new kid this winter if she knows nothing.

Our experience is with the MoCo Rec leagues not Gaithersburg, but there was no bullying for not knowing rules. It's instructional and low pressure. I know they do some clinics before hand if she wanted to dip her toe in that way.

We've had a really good experience with the rec department basketball program.
