Recommendation for Tennis Racquet Restringing

Anonymous
Hi- I’m looking for recommendations for good places (or person) to professionally restring my kid’s tennis racquets. She just qualified for yellow ball tournaments, so we’re starting to gear up for more competitive play.

We’re in McLean, but are willing to drive a bit further if there’s someone who really knows what they’re doing.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Ask your tennis coach. Our kids’ coach used to do this at home. More recently, McLean Racket has done it. You don’t need to scour the area for “the best”. Oh, you’ll want to have at least 2 rackets in kid’s bag.

OP here- Thanks for the suggestion! Yes, we totally understand that at her current level, we don’t need the best. We’re more so looking for a place where the staff really know their stuff and can make good recommendations when needed since neither of us plays tennis and we’re learning as our daughter goes. She’s really into tennis, so we’re just trying to support her the best we can.

Ask the other kids what string and tension they use. Also ask the coach what they recommend. I would get lots of opinions and not just rely on the stringer however they may be helpful too.

Any tom dick or Jane can string their racquet. It doesn’t matter

This.

There’s another guy in McLean who does it from his house. He’s a little weird but harmless.
