The rest of the Rick Riordan series
The Hobbit Wings of Fire series Roald Dahl books Harry Potter |
Some of the above are good books. Others are mediocre. A few books above have explicit language not really suitable for most elementary grade students. Parents should carefully look each book over to decide whether it is suitable for their elementary students. |
Which do YOU think are good vs mediocre vs explicit? |
| My DS is also in 4th. Books he (and me in some cases) have enjoyed: other Rick Riordan, including the Trials of Apollo, Rangers Apprentice series, First Cat in Space series (graphic novel), Terrible Two series, Wizards of Once series, How To Train Your Dragon (books, pretty different from movies), Wild Robot series...he also likes Beast Quest, its a formulaic series where two heroes battle different beasts, but its exciting and has like 60 books. |
| The Witches (Dahl) |
| As a fourth grade boy, I loved Gary Paulsen. Maybe get him a copy of Hatchet. |
| Sounds ready for Harry Potter to me. |
