| I'm 41 and more than 50 percent gray. I've had several people surprised that I have elementary school kids or assume I was near retirement age. Im job hunting and am concerned people will think I am 10 years older. Any good hair dyes for men that don't look like I painted my hair jet black? |
| Go to a proper salon |

You need to go to a salon and get something that matches your original color. Then you can do your research online and buy at-home color. It's easy to do, and so much cheaper.
Plenty of men your age dye their hair, OP. You are not alone. |
I tend to think dyed hair looks artificial and unnatural to your coloring, just embrace your gray

If you can't understand that this pic is not real, I don't know what to tell you. You're just too dumb. |
| My DH has a full head of black hair but his beard is major salt and pepper lol. He uses just for men once a week. |

There are a lot of shampoos you can use to gradually add pigment, or you can use a Demi permanent dye which has a “mild” developer and rinses out after 25-30 washes. Neither of those will look unnatural, although they may not totally cover the gray.
If you want to go the permanent color route, you can use a paint brush to paint on the color while leaving some grey streaks. It takes a lot of practice but it’s doable. A salon can do this for you but of course it’s pricey and my biggest issue with the salons is the time wasted there… it’s easily 2.5-3 hours for hair dye and a simple cut, whereas I can do it at home in 45 min max. |
| Just For Men stuff is popular. Just don't get the super dark black ones. |
| Gray hair on men is nice. Do not dye it! |
I would focus on dressing younger. |
Hello fellow youngsters!

If you’re 50% gray you MIGHT be okay with Demi permanent (which is different from semi permanent)
I’d recommend the salon for the first effort, but if you want to DIY you need to go at least two shades later than your actual hair and leave it on for about 10 extra minutes I use a wella light brown semi permanent color and i have dark Asian hair. Your grays will be lighter than your other hair, but it should look like natural variation. After you apply the dye, make sure you didn’t miss any of the edges, like baby fine hairs at the edge of your hairline or by your ears or base of neck. Then you need to carefully wipe any guy off of your skin on your forehead and neck. Make sure you don’t have any interviews for about 3 to 4 days after you dye. You’ll need that time for any dye that got in your forehead to disappear (it will just be a light shadow, but it will still look weird) and for the colored, kind of set in instead of being too dark |
