TJ Parents - virtual options over the summer for the social studies class?

Anonymous
My kid is trying to squeeze in AP macro/micro as a 7th class virtually in the evening. Rather than taking AP macro/micro virtually, he wants to add it to his senior year load, but we remembered that doesn't count as the extra (non-AP) social studies course they need between 10th and 12th grades. My kid is now considering taking a social studies class over the summer to keep options open for electives.
I know there is FCPS online campus and Virtual Virginia, but looking for suggestions, options or insight to keep in mind.

I know summer is a long way off, but if he drops Macro/Micro now, he's trying to figure out if/how he can fit it in later. Thanks for any helpful info.

Best way to do the extra SS class is through the Loudoun virtual summer system. FCPS kids are eligible (LCPS gets first crack at class spots though) and they have an asynchronous version whereas I think FCPS insists on summer classes being synchronous (except for personal finance).

Interesting. That is good information. Any classes that are well served that way?

DD did the easiest route which she said was pretty common - doing world history 1 summer after 10th since kids take world history 2 in 10th and apparently it covers most of WH1 content too so summer is then a refresh of the material mainly.
