| I’m comparing 2013G roster sizes for GA and ECNL teams as we plan for my daughter next year. I’ve seen NVA GA with ~20 players and Arlington ECNL with ~16. What are other clubs carrying for 2013G? If you can share your club, league (GA or ECNL), and typical game-day numbers, that would be super helpful. Thanks! |

It's really club dependent. You can look up roster sizes on the ECNL and GA websites.
SYC GA is about 15 at u13, but it trends to more players the older the players get. In the ECNL BY Laws they do recommend ECNL Clubs carry enough players to not ever be in a position to require Guest Players. Traditionally, ECNL Clubs did carry rosters about 20 players. Again it is easy to look up roster sizes on the league websites. |
| It’s more team by team circumstances than a club policy. If a team has as many players as the club wants, but talented players come knocking, the club will add more. Always. |
NVA has 20 players!?!, but with the GA rule only 18 can dress on game day. That means 2 will always have to sit out, which has to feel tough—especially when you’ve paid nearly $5K just to be part of the team. |
| They will play Aspire |
I never seen roster on GA site |
| ECNL-RL and we have 17 on the roster |
NVA doesn't have an Aspire team. Those poor unfortunate souls will not dress unless injuries pile up or they are asked to play up an age group. |
agree - ECNL very full disclosure with this stuff (j/k put the pitchforks down) |
well the coach that figured out already. Likely a girl plays up for 2012s occasionally. Or the 2014s on the team play with there age group. All the girls will get to play soccer. |
| most clubs have minimum 18 roster size. |
There is always at least 2 with some sort of injury. Last year we had over 18 rostered and not once did a kid not get to dress for a game. |
