Have you received a compelling job offer right after starting new job?

How did you handle the exit? I left big tech role for smaller focused tech firm and start next week. Recruiter reached out for new opportunity that would be better aligned to my long term career goals. If it works out (would likely take 4 weeks to get to offer) and I get an offer I want to take tell me how you’ve handled the exit. Timing is everything!

Start the job you have. You may not get the offer but try your best and show commitment to the job you have.

If you get the offer, just politely and graciously resign and thank them for the opportunity.

People do this more often than you might think. I used to hire many people and some leave right away and it's not hard to believe because you know timing-wise that they've been looking.

The compelling job offer had better be one that you plan to stay at for several years. You will burn a bridge with your current job.
