| My HSer had fun reffing rec games and is looking for opportunities to do this more. Is this only something he can really do in his club’s rec games? Any other leads? |
You can work for any club you want but has he gone through the training and been certified? If so, then I'd reach out to clubs and ask for their referee assignor. |
Each club's website usually provides who the assignor is for their rec leagues and provides contact info. Do some digging and you'll find something. If not, just ask the assignor that he/she has worked with for some names of other assignors. |

If you're not already in Vienna, that's a place to look. They have their own league, their own assignor and a couple of terrific mentors.
A few other places to look for rec assignments: Tarey Houston has McLean and a lot of NCSL recreational assignments: https://www.ncsl-soccer.com/_element_display/#%2F80738%2Fteams%2Fclub%2F112471789.html%3Frnd%3D1756051661257 Annandale rec has its own assignors: https://www.ncsl-soccer.com/_element_display/#%2F80738%2Fteams%2Fclub%2F112471784.html%3Frnd%3D1756050992827 John Davis does Braddock Road and several other clubs/leagues: https://www.ncsl-soccer.com/_element_display/#%2F80738%2Fteams%2Fclub%2F112471785.html%3Frnd%3D1756051290099 Jesse Rosenthal does higher-level games -- ECNL Regional, national ECNL, MLS Next, etc. You don't want to jump straight from rec league to that. |
