MSNBC is separating from NBC and changing its name to MSNOW.
"Later this year, MSNBC will take on a new name: My Source News Opinion World (MS NOW). This name further underscores our mission: to serve as your destination for breaking news and thoughtful analysis and remain the home for the perspectives that you’ve relied on for nearly 30 years." https://www.msnbc.com/news/msnbc-changing-name-ms-now-rcna225560 |
| my source news opinion world?? |
It’s been a terrible name for 30 years MSNBC originally stood for Microsoft and National Broadcasting Company, formed from a joint venture between Microsoft and NBC in 1996. However, the network is rebranding to MS NOW (which stands for My Source for News, Opinion and the World) |
| Who gives a crap? Legacy media is dying. Only gray hairs care about this stuff. |
| This name change probably costs 100M in consulting fees and many thousands of hours of meetings. |
|
"My Source..."?
This is like circa 2008 branding. Good grief. |
| The strategy is to offload the problematic leftist crap so it can die off to the side while not taking/ sinking NBC with it. |
Yes, and a word salad is the best they could come up with. |
| At least they're including "Opinion" in the name. That's all it is - far left opinion shows. |
Oh for sure. The logo is atrocious too. |
Exactly. But without NBC’s money backing them as an affiliate, it’s going to be a bumpy ride. |
Do people just not know how to read anymore? This is what PP just said? |
| As long as they keep pissing off Trump, I don't care what they call themselves. |
I've found that most people who claim something is a "word salad" just have poor reading comprehension skills. |
| Why are they keeping the “MS” and dropping the “NBC”? They’re abandoning the one thing that gave them a hint of credibility. Now they sound like some sort of local cable network. |
