Please recommend a store in Maryland (Montgomery County) or DC to get beer and wine for a family reunion/Labor Day party.
Is one county/city cheaper than another — DC, MoCo, PG? Should we try a grocery (Costco, Trader Joe’s, Rodman’s, Wegman’s) or a wine/beer store. |
| Why don't you call around some wine stores and see what they can do? |
| Calvert Woodly on Connecticut Ave. |
| Dc costco |
| Costco. Always costco. |
| I like Total Wine, but unsure how their prices compare. My DH usually purchases all the alcohol for our events, and he primarily goes to the DC Costco. |

In the past, I've used Rodman's on Wisc Ave. They take back unopened bottles too. (At least they used to)
|
| Costco for best value / good options at decent price. Total Wine if you want specific items, wide selection, or less common offerings. Wegmans is fine if it's closest. Not Trader Joe's, it's fine for a standard weekday but not right for a party IMHO. |
| OP here- thank you for the input! |
| DC Costco for your purposes. Rodman’s if you’re looking to experiment. |
| Wegmans for convenience, Costco if you’re willing to drive across town. |

You will spend more in driving than you'd save going somewhere.
Only go out of your way if you want some more exotic or hard to find stuff. Be sure to get brown bottled beers, no cans. Microplastics, toxins, petroleum oils, etc. etc. in canned beers. If you ice down beer outside on a patio, don't put out any beer in clear or green bottles, or they will skunk fast. |
