Korean/ Japanese fashion help

I’m embarrassed to ask this question and yes, I have googled, but I don’t know the keywords that will get me my results. I’m hoping somebody here knows.

What is the name, style that Japanese and Korean women wear? It’s loose, boxy looking but very nice cut silhouettes. I would almost say they look oversized, but I think that’s the style.

I’m not looking for traditional clothing. The style I am looking for is simple with of neutral colors.

Go to uniqlo. I don't know what the style is called, but I think it's ugly.

Every woman in Japan transforms into this upon the birth of a child, no matter how she looked before.
Not that this isn't cute but it has zero sex appeal. It also only works if you are about 100 lbs underneath all the fabric.

Agree. I do not think most American women can pull off this look.

Do you sincerely think that’s cute?

I mean it's all relative, just left school drop-off where the moms were in bike shorts and sports bras. It's cuter that that. Cute like a Persian kitten

At least bike shorts and sports bras look like clothing made for adults. That outfit looks like it was designed for a toddler and then just made with more fabric to fit an adult. I have no desire to dress like a toddler.

And the combo of bike shorts/sports bra is practical for activities like exercise, housework, gardening. I can’t think of any activity for which that voluminous, shapeless dress would be practical. I just can’t see wearing that while vacuuming or mowing the lawn.

Muji definitely. there’s also an online store called Fasbee which looks like it ships internationally although all the prices are in yen. I do feel that Japanese women’s style is difficult for Westerners to pull off though.

Appreciate the help and the website. I didn’t include this in my original post, but this is for my elderly mom who has that same body type as the women in the pictures. She likes style because it is very conservative and covers her entire body.. As an 80-year-old woman I figure she can wear whatever she likes.

I thought it looked more very elderly (who are so thin and frail they are cold all the time) than toddler.

Send her to Eileen Fisher. It's the same big drapey/boxy look in natural fabrics and neutrals.

Oh, well in that case I’d look at Soft Surroundings as well!
