Noticable reduction in homeless and tents in DC, what about libaries and metro?

Anonymous
Drove to DC for a work meeting with a customer, and the reduction in homeless people and tents was noticeable.

It was a positive change, as usual. DC looks depressing with all the homeless people and encampments.

Does anyone know if they are still congregating in other areas like the libraries and metros? If they aren't, I may revisit date nights, etc, taking the metro and walking around at night.

You have date nights in libraries? Maybe you should stay out in the suburbs!

Joking - but no, of course the extra cops and soldiers are not going into libraries - still full of homeless people. And quite a few still roaming the streets and panhandling - just not setting up tents.

It's not illegal for homeless people to enter libraries. Nationally, they are welcomed there. If you haven't seen them in your local library, it's because your town / area of town doesn't have homeless people.

Please have your date nights in your burb. We don't want you here.

Yes, we certainly don't want economic activity in DC!

I am downtown and don't see a single guardsman. Homeless are still here. 1000 federal troops walking around the already safe monuments literally in the store buying souvenirs.

Nope! Anyone celebrating that Trump simply pushed these folks to some burb is dumb and heartless. He didn't solve the problem. He simply made it more difficult for the homeless AND whoever is having to deal with the problem now. And for what, so she can have a date night? GTFOH. I dont want them in my city.

Of course they are. Do you think they have been assisted into housing? I don’t think you understand what the current Administration’s goals are.

I live in NW DC, the homeless folks haven't gone anywhere, after clearing the nearby encampments there is a distinct uptick in the number of people I see now laying out on the medians, park benches, bus stops and in front of the libraries. It's not like any meaningful change was made, and once this all blows over I guarantee you the encampments will return.

They're not even doing that much effort - they only removed the tents, the people living in them are still here, just sitting out on street corners and medians now.

I see. It's all just a bunch of BS and PR stunts.

DC needs to get its money from lunching federal workers. That's all they know.
