Mine has a hard time eating so early (leaves at 6:40) but doesn't have lunch til 12:15. Trying to think of something that has some protein that would go down easy. |
Protein shake, kefir, milk, egg bites, nut bars, peanut butter toast. Easy gas and can eat while walking out the door to bus stop if need be. |
Mine eats a granola bar/dried fruit/whatever during passing periods. |
Toast and butter |
Mine had a half muffin and handful of strawberries today. She has a protein bar for recess. Late lunch shift. |
Eggs and half a croissant this am. |
You have recess in middle school? |
Our rotation is: Protein shake or smoothie, toast with peanut butter and banana, waffles, eggs with bacon |

Oatmeal bars It's usually light |
Oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, cereal |
FCPS MS have recess.
Mine refused to eat. Too early. |
Today, a donut (first day treat) and a banana. Second year of MS and doesn't usually eat much. Fruit and a piece of toast or two mini muffins. On test days she might have a couple of veggie sausages for the protein. |
Oatmeal and a banana with a glass of milk. Sometimes he has pancakes or waffles. He tells us he is not hungry at school and that what he buys for lunch, his choice, is more then enough. We are waiting for puberty to start and then I suspect we will ahve a different routine... |
Carson's recess is literally held in the bus lot in front of the school. We jokingly refer to it as the prison yard. There is no equipment for the kids to use, DS and his friends have some game they came up with that uses water bottle caps. Honestly, it is kind of depressing. It is nice that they are outside for a bit and have some down time but they cannot use the green space because that is used for PE classes that are happening during the recess time. |
My kid is just happy for a quick break and some fresh air. What type of "equipment" were you hoping for? Monkey bars and swings? Or are you talking basketball hoops and balls? The latter would be nice, but MS recess is a pretty new concept and I am just happy, again, for he the break and the fresh air. |
