Favorite topical treatment/balm for Upper Back Nerve and Muscle Pain

I’d like to try some new things. Is there anything you find helpful for this area besides lidocaine patches. Those don’t seem to help me much.

Thanks

Gabapentin for nerve pain
Flexeril for muscle relaxant
You’re welcome

I use a heating pad. It works well for me in bed.

Tens machine?

OP wants topical not heavy meds.

Depends on what's causing the pain.

Icy Hot, Tiger Balm, Bengay.

Also some simple stretches can work wonders

The new absorbine (which started as horse linament) is pretty decent: https://www.absorbinejr.com/

Stinks, but not as bad as the OG horse version!

NGL, I love the way tiger balm smells.

Yeah, I have chronic pain and would suffer a LOT without hot snapz: https://hotsnapz.com/

Diclofenac ( brand name Voltaren) helps me. Biofreeze is pretty good too.

Can you give some instruction on how to use this thing? Do you surround the area? How do you know about settings and duration? Does it help you only during the treatment or after, too?

My physical therapist used it in appts sometimes and I just mimic what she does-I put one of the stick in pads on either side of the problem area. It helps both during and after!

The original issue I went to pt for is long resolved and I’ve used it the same way on various strains and pains and elsewhere and it does consistently seem to help.
