Where to get Chocolate Babka

Anonymous
Where can I get good, fresh chocolate Babka? I love the one at TJs but I'm looking for something fresh. Breads Unlimited in Bethesda sells them but it is hit or miss whether they have them and they don't answer the phone -- they just immediately say thanks for holding and give you the muzac. Very off putting and I don't want to waste my time driving there if they don't have them today.

Any suggestions?

I haven’t found a good bakery one in the area. TJs-is the best i’ve found sadly. The ones I have gotten locally have been very dry and tasteless and even at bakeries-tasted stale.

So i’m following this to see what the suggestions are.

Do you need it today? I haven't found anywhere locally so order from Breads Bakery in NYC.

I did but we went to Duck Donuts instead. But keep the suggestions coming for next time, if there are any.

I’ve purchased them at the Friendship Heights Whole Foods before, along with chocolate rugelach. I’ve no idea if this is seasonal or not. Give Whole Foods a call.
