Some states now require this. Companies usually post very broad ranges. I find it very useful. It would be nice if MD and VA would enact similar legislation.
I have run across several interesting jobs where the high end of the listed salary range was far too low for me. Benefited me not to apply and benefited company not to get an applicant who would not accept a $50k salary cut. |

| Agreed - as a hiring manager, I always post a range, because I don't want to waste my time with someone who will never take the job anyway |

More and more states are an acting pay transparency laws that require rings and job postings. I work for a company that spams the US at we post ranges for all of our jobs regardless of state. We have noticed that more candidates apply to jobs when they know the range.
