SEC NTEU CBA arbitration

What’s going on?

It’s in briefing. Won’t get a decision before fall at the earliest. Even then, if we win, Atkins will probably take it to the NLRB. Atkins declined to give us the 2 hour early release before holidays after the OPM guidance. He is a a hard trump supporting boot-licker who will not give us anything.

Not sure what the point of having a contract is.

I get the process is mandatory but it seems wrong that management can break the law, the administration can deliberately not staff FLRA and get away with it indefinitely.

It really is a joke.

Federal unions are all but dead now, so it doesn't really matter what the arbitration outcome is. We'll be lucky if the union isn't dissolved completely.

Sorry OP, if NTEU looks like they are going to be successful then the president will claim your roles are too involved in national security to have bargaining rights and your agency will throw out the CBA.

It won’t be arbitration or the courts that get telework back in the federal government. And we may never get it back. For some stupid reason I had hope when this first started but now I’m proceeding as if it is never coming back. I advise you to do the same.

I’ve stopped trying to tell people that the federal government does a lot of very important and necessary things that require a high level of expertise. And that no one with that expertise will ever want to work for the government. People won’t listen. We are useless bureaucrats.

Such a weird thing to obsess over. He didn’t care about telework during first term. Why now, suddenly?

They want people to quit. There is no answer other than they want to make things difficult so people quit. There is also a pay freeze coming so thats another lever they are pulling to get people to quit.

+1. I'm at another agency and I believe they must want people to quit regardless of function--which they will over time.

I'm standing firm no matter what. Will not allow them to force me out! But I'm pretty sure that telework is a no go from here on out.

Telework is widely available for SES and political appointees. Other MAGA hires are using religious RAs to get telework. They can deny disability RAs but not religious based RAs. They want everyone else to quit

1. I do think telework will come back, as long as private sector is hybrid.

2. At this point though, I don't even care if it comes back. I just want ad hoc to come back.

Nothing to stop you from using religious RA for TW.

Religious RAs have been around at the SEC for some time now, I wouldnt count on being able to use it to get recurring TW.
