| I have at least 12 people in my very close circle who have been without jobs for last 6 months. While the government is getting a lot of money through tariffs, people are losing jobs at the same time. How is the country becoming rich and people becoming poor go together? Inflation is through the roof. Altoids is now $7.99 for example. More and more people are losing jobs and hiring has gone down. What is our future like? |
| Haves and have nots. MAGA thinks it won't impact them, but it will eventually, then the rabid base may turn on their cult leader. But, who knows. Apparently, their leader can shoot someone on 5th ave and not lose support. |

It all depends on your socio-economic circles, OP. Inequalities have been widening slowly and inexorably for decades, you just did not notice. But now that federal white collar jobs have been cut, people on DCUM notice, because their livelihoods are on the line, or those of their relatives, friends and neighbors. The industrial towns of the north and manufacturing centers everywhere can tell you what it feels like when half the town is out of a job. This is why our current President was able to demagogue his way to the top - by playing on people's long-standing insecurities and resentment. |
| You have been lucky if you only notice this now. |
My goodness, stop spewing fake news. |
NP. Which part of that is fake? |
All of it. |
Ok, the price of Altoids appears to be off. But you don’t believe people are losing their jobs? |
Unless OP is homeless, knowing 12 people that lost jobs is a stretch. Even if that were true, more of a stretch is that NONE of them got another job. Uber, UberEats, McDonald’s, substitute teaching, waitressing, OF, nothing? Nice troll attempt but make it more believable next time. |

Speaking of fake news. |
I believe the OP. |
Of course you do, you wrote it. |
No, but you can count me among the jobless. |
