I’m a bit confused by this statement in the Dwayne thread.
Can you truly tell or is USA language more heavily influenced by region? Are there words that only “upper class” Americans use? Ex: Muffler > “Muffla” Joey in NJ and Rodney in Baltimore may both say “muffla” and be from two different racial and economic backgrounds. Two different classes but regional accents influence their pronunciation. |

| As a person from the UK who spent collectively 22 yrs living in various parts of the USA (MD/ NYC/ LA) I'd say most people I've spoken to have poor grammar and a very basic vocabulary. And that's not even including the flyover states. |
| Is this thread a joke? DO you want an example of every variation? Dictionary English makes people seem intelligent and educated. Dialects and accents from different parts of the country have differing affects. Some are acceptable and some just make people sound really dumb no matter what they're saying. |
