| I follow MLSNext on insta and didn’t realize media day was a thing. Is that a thing too for non academy MLSNext clubs? Is it included in club fees? I mean my kids HS team has a “media day” but we don’t pay anything for the pics. |
| Our ECNL Club has media day, we don’t pay any extra. |
Joke for MLSNext and ECNL. Make a pro team? Then have at it. This is another version of graduation ceremonies for every grade and a participation trophy for every sport. Now, get off of my lawn. |
| Your phone has a camera |
| Media day is just a fancy name for picture day. Kids sports teams have been having picture days forever. People like having pictures of their kids. Amazing that some of you are triggered by taking pictures |
I too love media days that are free. I take crappy pics and those pics are much nicer than the ones I take and the kind I can print and frame. |
|
It's just taking good pictures of the players for the Clubs social media.
Parents get them all electronically as well. They don't sell them to us. All up side in my opinion, but I'm not looking for reasons to make my life miserable. |
Yes, but this encapsulates everything that is wrong with youth sports today. |
You didn’t have picture day for sports when you were a kid? |
| Non academy travel team in a big club here. Media Day is included for a older 1st teams (but their dues are closer to $3400 and ours are closer to $2400 for the year) and we can opt in and pay $45 or chose any other service for photos. |
Called "media day" and intended for social media, rather than personal pics to stick on the grandparents' fridge? No. |
You sound awful. Club makes photos available to everyone. I frame one for grandma every year. No fridge. |
| Social media full of it. Latest that called my attention was Loundon 2014 girls. Wtf is that? |
Could you try harder to miss the point? |
That was cringy |
