| We my have a chance to take our DD to DisneyWorld next year. I'm wondering when is the best time to go? Less crowded? Is Spring or Fall the best time? Not Spring break time, I know that. DD will be 4 years so taking her out of school isn't a problem/issue. |
| I am in Orlando right now (not to go to Disney) and they said at the hotel that this is the low season for Disney. The flight down had a few babies/preschoolers but no school age kids. |
| A guy we met on a Disney cruise who lives in Orlando says he always takes his daughter to Disney World on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. He says everyone is heading home that day, and the park is not crowded at all. |
| January/February months are also low. It is kind of cold for the Floridians, but the parks are open! |
| We went in February last year and the weather was awful. Rainy and cold. That being said, the lines were non existent! |

| We went in February this year and it was a little cool -- needed sweatshirts and could not do the water parks but there were no lines. My kids would get off a ride and walk straight back on over and over again. I've been told that during peak seasons there can be a 2+ hour wait for a ride. |

In January after schools are in session and most of Feb. too. Never ever go during the holidays it is absolutely awful.
October is fun b/c of Halloween but obviously don't go Halloween weekend. Sunday after T-giving is a great suggestion. |

We just came back from Disney. The crowds were low last week but it was HOT!
We also went early Dec. The crowds were low, but it was cooler. Couldn't use the pool and had to wear sweatshirts/jackets at night. If I had to choose again, I'd go with Dec. |
| Think about what is important to you during the vacation. If a big one is spending time at the pool for mid-day breaks then don't go during the winter months because the weather is so hit or miss. For beautiful weather, hoping there aren't hurricanes, we love going in October. If the chance of cool weather isn't an issue, we also like early/mid December before the holiday crowds arrive. Disney holiday decorations will be up, every where in fact, and they are incredible. |
| We went in early November and it was great! You could walk onto most rides. |
|
September/October and early December are historically lower times. Spring gets progressively busier - avoid holidays, spring breaks on the east coast, and Easter.

In CA, some theme parks are open on Thanksgiving Day. There are usually immigrant families who do not celebrate the holiday so it's not too crowded. |

"immigrant families?"
Oh god. |

I would recommend around Halloween time. We've been twice since my dd5 was born at that time and have had a ball and the parks aren't really crowded, except MK on Halloween itself, we go to Epcot that day. I'd suggest checking in on the 30 or 31 next year and that week should be relatively calm and the weather will be nice or plan to check out on the 31 or Nov. 1. Definitely check out touring plans and get an idea of which parks are busy which days. Look at this year's chart to get an idea for next year.
Also, disboards.com will give you a ton of info and suggestions. Since you aren't bound to a school year calendar, definitely take advantage of off times. They say that the week following Thanksgiving is great and you'd get to see the Xmas decorations. |
