Does anyone have recent experiences delivering at Georgetown they would like to share?
Hoping for pros and cons, but a detailed step by step summary of what it was like would also be appreciated. This is my first baby, and we're locked in to going to Georgetown, but I would like to know what it was like. Was there a lot of waiting? What is the food like? Do they have pillows and blankets for your partner? We have been going to Medstar for all the OB visits, and know it's a practice so we can't pick the doctor we wills ee on the day-of, but would still like to see what experiences other people had. Thank you! |
Had my baby in February at Georgetown with Medstar OBs. Cannot give you step by step but if you are being induced we were admitted immediately but then due other women in labor our actual drug induction started 26 hours after being admitted. Wonder L&D nurses. Food was fine. They serve you and your partner at 7am, 11:30am ish and 5pm. You choose from a daily special and set menu. Snacks after delivery are jello cups, juice cups, broth, soda, saltines and hot chocolate. Food is not amazing but not horrible.
Overall very happy with the experience and would do it all (Medstar OBs and Georgetown) again |
Adding they do have pillows and blankets but I would bring my own if I was the partner. |
Delivered there last month as a FTM!
I had a scheduled c section that was pushed back a few hours since it was non-emergent. Pros: Care was really good for baby and mom. Most of the nurses were fantastic. Cons: Food wasn’t great, but also it’s a hospital, so I wasn’t expecting much. Overall hospital stay wasn’t great, but wasn’t bad. I didn’t have much to compare it too. There’s no baby nursery so you’re with your baby 24/7 and you will be visited by lots of lactation consultants. As a MedStar OBGYN patient, I have no regrets because the pregnancy and post partum care was great. |
